Follow-Up

After an assessment is complete, it is strongly recommended that you return for at least one follow-up session.  It is very important to Dr. Imber that the results of the evaluation are meaningful and helpful for you and for your treatment team.  The feedback session is your opportunity to ask questions about the evaluation results and recommendations.  Usually, this session will be structured according to your questions.  In order to make the best use of the time, it is a good idea to write down your questions in advance and bring them with you to the meeting. For those clients who are self-paying, please note that an hour-long feedback session is included in the cost of the standard flat-rate evaluation.

Sometimes we decide together that it may be helpful to have additional follow-up meetings to address specific issues, or to provide help with particular problems.

In addition, many people eventually return for a re-evaluation in order to track changes in their cognitive functioning, update recommendations for treatment or academic interventions, or assess new issues that have arisen.  Follow-up evaluations are usually performed 1 to 3 years after the initial assessment, depending upon need.
